Große Auszeichnung für ein junges Mitglied von Sports Media Austria. Martin Schauhuber (Bild) aus Wien wurde von der AIPS für das "AIPS Young Reporter Programme" bei den Europa-Spielen 2015 im Juni in Baku nominiert. Der 21-Jährige, der an der FH in Wien Journalismus und Medien-Management studiert und für LAOLA1 arbeitet, ist einer von zehn aus ganz Europa ausgewählten Kandidaten, die - neben zwei Jung-Journalisten aus Azerbaidschan - von 12. bis 28. Juni die Spiele in 20 Sportarten verfolgen werden. Nach Sandra Aigner (ORF) vor zwei Jahren bei der Unter-17-WM der Fußballer in Dubai ist Schauhuber erst der zweite Österreicher, der für diese wichtige Institution des Welt-Sportjournalisten-Verbandes AIPS nominiert wurde. "Ich freue mich sehr auf die Europa-Spiele", meinte Schauhuber nach seiner Nominierung. Alle Kosten (Flug, Hotel, Verpflegung) werden von der AIPS bzw. den Veranstaltern getragen. LAUSANNE/BAKU, April 20, 2015 - Ten promising young journalists from across Europe will be among hundreds of sport media professionals who will be providing in-depth coverage of the European Games in Azerbaijan this summer. The candidates selected by the AIPS Bureau were among over 30 journalism students and young journalists who applied for a chance to cover the first European Games. The ten participants, who will be joined by two Azerbaijani journalists, will gain all-round print, broadcast and new media knowledge and practical experience, covering 20 sports disciplines in the 18 Baku 2015 competition venues. Mentored by distinguished working journalists, the 12 reporters will enjoy a career-shaping educational sports journalism experience during the Games, which will take place from 12-28 June this year. “The talented group of students chosen for Baku follow in the footsteps of dozens of great journalists from around the world who have gone through past AIPS Young Reporters programme. I am sure they will do a great job in covering the first European games,” said AIPS President Gianni Merlo. Jayne Pearce, Director of Press Operations at Baku 2015, added: “Part of what will make Baku 2015 so special is that the Games will bring people from across the continent together, including these AIPS Young Reporters. “I am sure that their time with us will be an unforgettable experience, and one that will serve them well at the start of their careers.” The applicants will have all their travel, accommodation and meals covered.
